Jet Set Radio

Gum (ガム, Gamu) is a playable character in the Jet Set Radio series. She, alongside Corn, is an original member of the GG's in both Jet Set Radio, and Jet Set Radio Future.

Appearance

Gum wears a short cream-colored dress with thin green piping at the hem over a long sleeved top with green striped two-tone sleeves. Her name is displayed in two-tone katakana letters horizontally across her chest. She also wears cream-colored gloves with green piping along the ends. She wears her trademark dark green aviator-style helmet which has a yellow stripe down the front. Her blonde hair pokes out from the front, curling under her eyes along her cheekbones, and out the back down her neck. There's a yellow-orange cross on the backs of her gloves, and also on the sides of her helmet. Her skates match her attire, having a drab green and cream color scheme, with lighter green katakana on both sides, and yellow wheels.

In some early original artwork, she is shown having a tattoo of her name on her inner left thigh. This tattoo, however, is not present in the actual game.

Appearances in Other Games

Gum appears in two games outside of the Jet Set Radio series.

Sega Superstars Tennis

Gum is a playable character in this Sega crossover tennis game. Her design is taken from the original Jet Set Radio. Gum's Superstar move has Tokyo-to's Police Force storm in on the tennis court, running over her opponent.

Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing: Transformed

Gum is a playable character in this sequel to Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing, alongside Beat. She has a green and white car similar to Beat's one. Her All Star move makes a broken heart appear behind her. This could be a reference to the description of her, said during her introduction in Jet Set Radio Future by Dr. Professor K. In this game, she has a green tattoo on the left leg, saying "Gum" in Japanese, which is in reference to the same tattoo that is shown in her original Jet Set Radio appearance, though the tattoo was originally placed closer to her inner thigh. Sumo Digital most likely moved the tattoo to avoid making Gum seem overly sexualized. Her All-Star theme is a remix of Let Mom Sleep.

Gum also appears on an unlockable sticker in this game, obtained for winning an event in the Shibuya Downtown stage while playing as her.

Skullgirls

Gum is not a playable character in the game, but the DLC character Squigly has an alternate color palette based on Gum's color scheme. It was chosen among other potential palettes by the backers of the DLC in a poll.
