Official artwork

In Jet Set Radio, Garam challenges the GG's to imitate some of his tricks in Kogane-cho's sewer area. After successfully completing his challenges, Garam will join the GG's and become a playable character.

In Jet Set Radio/Jet Grind Radio, Garam wears orange goggles with a hexagon pattern, black elbow-length gloves, gray camo shorts, and black and gray skates with an orange tip and blue wheels. He is never seen wearing a shirt, but does have a blue, vaguely skull-shaped necklace around his neck. Notably, the necklace bears a resemblance to Sega's mascot, Sonic the Hedgehog.

In this racing game, Garam appears only on an unlockable sticker, unlocked by rolling left, right, backwards and forwards while still landing successfully.

  • In an interview with Ryuta Ueda, lead art designer of Jet Set Radio, he hints at the fact that Garam's necklace is "the skull of a famous Sega character". Given its obvious resemblance to Sonic the Hedgehog, it's possible Sonic existed in the world Jet Set Radio is set in, but is dead at the time of the game, with his skull having been made into the necklace.
  • According to the Jet Set Radio guidebook, Garam is 19 years old, which is the same age as Slate.
