Rhyth

Rhyth (リス, Risu^?) is a Rudie living in Tokyo. She is a playable character in Jet Set Radio Future. She joins the GG's after the player proves their skill by copying some of her moves at Rokkaku-dai Heights.

Overview[]

Appearance[]

In Jet Set Radio Future, her apparel has changed very much compared to her Jet Set Radio counterpart. She retains her blue hair, her headphones, now sporting the first katakana letter of her name (リ) below her left eye, except for her lipstick color which is now red, and blue irises. Her outfit is exposes far more skin: a light blue backless dress with a high collar, and a thin strapped bra with red cups on the outside. The hem of her dress is a darker blue, and right above - her name (リズ) is written in same blue katakana. She dons loose transparent sleeves tightened around her biceps, with a black and yellow wristband on her left wrist. Her panties are a light yellow, and her knee socks are striped blue and blue-grey. Her skates, trimmed with white fur, are predominantly blue, with lighter blue and yellow dispersed throughout. The heels are spiked with white and black, and the wheels sport yellow.

Personality[]

Rhyth has an abstract and upbeat personality, coming off as "weird" to most people. She has an optimistic personally and finds the light side of most things, even showing interest in people and things most people might not. Some examples of this include finding Poison Jam "kinda" cute and thinking that the Golden Rhinos are cool looking. The guidebook for the game highlights this and refers to her as a "mysterious girl" in her profile.

Role in Jet Set Radio Future[]

Rhyth is first found in Rokkaku-dai Heights on top of the abandoned Kogane Station warehouse. When spoken to, she'll challenge the player to a game of hide and seek across Rokkaku-dai Heights. Once she is found twice, she'll join the GG's and become playable. Aside from that, her role is minimal.

Yoyo - Right after she joins the GG's. if you play as her and talk to Yoyo, he will act flustered and say: "You're...like...you know...yo.", suggesting that he has a crush on her. After the appearance of Rapid 99, Yoyo eventually asks where Rhyth is from, being curious on her background. During the time Yoyo is missing and when NT-3000 is posing as him, Rhyth does not believe Yoyo is a traitor, saying: "I don't think Yoyo is that kind of a person." when talking to her in chapter 7. After Yoyo's rescuing, she tells him that the most "unbelievable stuff" was happening during his disappearance. Gum - After Rapid 99 appears, Gum gives Rhythm a warm welcome to the gang. Beat - If Beat talks to Rhyth during chapter 3, she will tell him that he kinda "smells weird". Posion Jam - At the start of chapter 3, if the player talks to her, she will say: "Poison Jam are...kinda cute!". DJ Professor K - During the chapter the Golden Rhinos kidnap DJ Professor K, Rhyth is very shocked, if the player talks to her she will say: "Someone's after DJ-K?! You sure about that?!?!". Gouji Rokkaku - Just before the final fight against Gouji, if the player talks to Rhyth she says that Gouji is "interesting", but thinks he went too far. Hayashi - In chapter 4, if the player talks to her, she will say: "Is it just me, or does Captain Hayashi not look like he eats his breakfast?" and considering the dialogue in Rokkaku-dai Heights just before this, she is very right. Golden Rhinos - Rhyth reveals that she collects Golden Rhinos pins at the start at chapter 7. When Clutch speaks to her, Rhyth reveals that she thinks they are "cool lookin'".

Trivia[]

If the player talks to Rhyth at the garage before collecting 40 Graffiti Souls in chapter 7, she will mention that she likes to collect Golden Rhino pins.
Rhyth, along with Boogie, Soda, Cube, and Jazz have no specific post-game dialogue towards the extra unlockable characters in the Japanese release of Jet Set Radio Future.
